Wim van der Beek (1960)
Founding Partner The Netherlands


Wim van der Beek is a social venturer with two decades of experience in financial structuring, investment funds and cross border direct investments. In 2004 he decided to 'walk his talk' and founded Goodwell Investments, a social investment firm focussed on high impact high return investment solutions.

Before launching Goodwell, Wim co-founded and managed an institutional fund advisory company. Prior to that, he was a partner in the financial services international tax practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Amsterdam. Wim is advisor at Intellecap and Aavishkaar in India and board member of BASIX in India.

Vineet Rai (1971)
Founding Partner India


Vineet is a serial social entrepreneur and leading microfinance expert. He has been involved in innovative finance mechanisms for over a decade. He has experience in small business incubation, SME sector, microfinance and venture capital investments. Vineet co-founded Rural Innovations Network and Aavishkaar India Micro Venture Capital Fund, arguably the world's first for-profit micro-equity fund. He founded Intellecap, a leading development finance consultancy and innovator consisting of 30 professionals and operating out of Mumbai, Hyderabad and Varanasi.

Vineet is an Ashoka Fellow, and serves on the advisory board of L-RAMP at IIT Chennai (Lemelson Foundation India Initiative), and the Joint Task Force of the Government of Uttranchal on Social Venture Capital.

Els Boerhof (1970)
Partner The Netherlands

Els is a development finance specialist. She was six years with FMO before joining Goodwell in 2008. At FMO she was the Manager of the Micro & Small Enterprise Fund MASSIF, which she expanded from €200 mln per end 2005 to over €300 mln per end 2007. She was a non-executive board member of Acción Investments in Microfinance (USA) and member of the Credit Committee of the AfricInvest Financial Sector Fund and OxfamNovib (later Triple Jump). Previously she held the positions of Manager Business Development and Investment Officer Asia. Els also worked for MeesPierson in International Trade & Commodity Finance and has a Master's Degree in Development Economics from Tilburg University.

Sophie Vossenaar (1960)
Partner The Netherlands


Sophie is a marketeer and social venturer. After an 18-year career at KLM, where she was responsible for the Inflight Entertainment & Communications for her last 8 years there, Sophie decided to refocus to socially responsible activities. Over the last few years she has built a portfolio of involvement: as director of welfare foundation 'Stichting De Vondelbrug', as a project account manager for children aid organization Net4kids and as a consultant to a foundation for homeless youngsters. Since March 2010, Sophie is a member of the Board of FIN, the Association of Dutch Wealth Funds. She graduated from the School for Hotel Management in The Hague and has an MBA from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, USA.

Annette Broerse-Nijsen (1972)
Senior Investment Manager The Netherlands

Annette Broerse-Nijsen is an investment professional with experience in investment banking, asset management and strategy consulting. She worked for ABN AMRO Bank for almost 10 years in various positions in several countries. She decided to make a move away from haute finance to focus on microfinance and within Goodwell she is involved in several projects in the field of integrated microfinance, renewable energy and water and sanitation. Annette has a Master's Degree in Economics from the University of Groningen.

Pradeep Pathiyamveetil (1972)
COO Investment Team India


Pradeep is COO of the investment team in India, with extensive experience in project finance, private equity investing and business development in rural India. Pradeep joined Aavishkaar in March 2002 as a Project Manager. Since then he has become a specialist in financial analysis and evaluation of small and medium size enterprises (SME's) and microfinance institutions. Previously he was six years with Rajshree Sugars and Chemicals in Coimbatore as Deputy Manager, Finance. Pradeep holds an MBA degree from the T. A. Pai Management Institute in Manipal, India.

'Tokunboh Ishmael (1966)
Partner Nigeria

Tokunboh is an investment professional with almost 20 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, technology and new business development in the USA, Europe and Africa. She is one of the two founders of Alitheia Capital, a Nigerian alternative asset company, established in 2007, and was previously country manager for Aureos Capital in Nigeria. 

‘Tokunboh is a director on the board of the African Venture Capital Association. She is a CFA charter holder; holds an MBA from the London Business School and a Masters (MSc) degree in Advanced Computing Methods from the University of London.

Patricia Safo (1969)
Partner Ghana

Patricia is an entrepreneur with extensive experience in business start-ups, fresh product procurement and exports out of Ghana. She has established and (co-) owns two companies in fresh fruit and fish farming, the latter being the first one in Africa to use floating net cages. She was one of the founders of
Blue Skies
, a fruit cutting and packaging company, which has won a Queen‟s award for Sustainability in 2008, 10 years after its operations in Ghana started.

In 2004 she started JCS Investments, an advisory firm which in 2006 obtained the mandate to manage the first venture capital fund  established by the Ghanaian government. Patricia holds a BA in Economics and Information Technology and an MSc. in Financial Management from MiddlesexUniversity in the UK.

André Plomp (1947)

André is the former managing director of Barclays De Zoete Wedd in The Netherlands, with a long career in capital markets and the investment industry.
