Goodwell Investments is a pioneering investment firm focused on financial inclusion and inclusive growth in sectors providing basic goods and services and income generation opportunities to underserved communities.

Since 2006 Goodwell has raised five funds and is managing over $ 310 mln in capital. Goodwell provides early-stage equity to high growth, high impact businesses serving un(der)served communities across India and Africa.

Goodwell’s 35+ portfolio companies have consolidated annual revenues exceeding EUR 400 million and reach over 300 million people across 47 countries globally.

Goodwell recently closed its uMunthu fund, a EUR 70m fund for Sub-Saharan Africa. The fund invested in 20 businesses across sectors including financial inclusion, agriculture, logistics and mobility, and other inclusive growth sectors with a heavy focus on the digital economy.

The firm has been listed in IA50 in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022. It is realising top quartile investment returns, demonstrating the ability to simultaneously deliver significant social impact and strong financial returns.

Goodwell manages its funds with teams on the ground that have become local leaders in the impact investment sector. We work with local partners in India (Aavishkaar), Nigeria (Alitheia) and our investment team for East Africa, located in Nairobi, Kenya, and our investment team for Southern Africa, located in Cape Town, South Africa.

Goodwell has a unique mix of investors: pioneering impact investors, entrepreneurs, foundations and family offices, as well as development finance institutions, funds-of-funds, banks, pension funds and other institutional investors.
