Investor Relations Associate, Amsterdam

Job summary

The Investor Relations (IR) Associate is responsible for the execution of Goodwell’s fundraising projects and managing relationships with our investors and related stakeholder network. Through your interactions with investors, you have a direct impact on the perception of Goodwell, and how this may attract others to join our network. You will be actively involved in Goodwell’s interactions with investors, including the planning and preparation of investor presentations, individual follow-ups, due diligence processes, onboarding and ongoing relationship management, including reporting and updating. In this role, you will work closely with all Investor Relations colleagues, as well as the Marketing, Communications and Communities team to help ensure the successful launch and implementation of Goodwell’s newest EUR 150 million Africa focused fund. The IR Associate reports to the Director of Investor Relations.

We expect you to bring insights and experience in venture capital and private equity, experience in emerging markets is a plus. In fundraising, we act as we do in our investment approach: a global investment firm with strong local connections. Although English is our primary corporate language, we believe it would be highly beneficial for our IR Associate to speak one or two other European languages, enabling you to connect more easily to local investors or national investor-related networks. Responsibilities and duties

  • Growth and leadership
    • Identify, enhance, and contact potential (new) investors.
    • Maintain Goodwell’s investor data rooms, investor database and management tool.
    • Develop, plan, and manage the execution of IR events, including roadshows, round tables, investor summits.
    • Provide coaching and guidance to the IR team.
    • Plan and guard investor follow-ups.
  • Communications
    • Develop a compelling investor argument to explain the value of our funds.
    • Act as a spokesperson and represent Goodwell at investor platforms, industry conferences, and other relevant impact platforms.
    • Maintain ongoing relationships with existing investors via structured account management and proactive, personal relationships.
    • Brief and coach suppliers to ensure a smooth investor journey.
  • Research and analysis
    • Manage research to identify new target investors to fuel Goodwell’s growth.
    • Contribute to the long-term growth strategy of investor relations network and fundraising approach.
    • Gather feedback from our network and market players about market developments and fundraising and IR strategies.

Qualifications 

  • Education and working experience
    • Master’s degree in Business Studies, Finance, Development Economics or Management Studies.
    • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in developing and maintaining connections with prospects/leads in an international context or relevant work experience with a proven record of investor deals in an international context.
    • Team leadership experience.
    • Track record in pulling investor commitments across the line.
    • Active involvement in private equity investments and venture capital networks.
    • Experience in international institutional investor settings or large financial institutions.
    • Experience with emerging markets is a plus.
  • Knowledge and skills
    • Strong project management skills.
    • Client-oriented, meticulous with high attention to detail.
    • Possess strong multidisciplinary and multicultural collaboration and teamwork skills.
    • Agile and adapts well to change.
    • Native or Proficient English level, any other language is an advantage.
    • Knowledge of CRM software and collaboration tools is a plus.
