Summary

We are looking for an HR Officer to join our team in Amsterdam on a part-time basis.
Education level required: Bachelor level degree in HR or related field
Availability: 1-2 days per week
Start: a.s.a.p.
Location: Amsterdam, Herengracht 201 (city centre, walking distance from Amsterdam Central station)

Job description
We are looking for a skilled Human Resources Officer who will assist us to recruit, support and develop talent through developing our policies and managing procedures. You will be responsible for shaping the human resources function and contribute to making the company a better place to work. This position is important to our business success – people are our most important asset and you’ll be the one to ensure we have a happy and productive workplace. Promoting corporate values and shaping a positive culture is a vital aspect of your role. As a multinational company with teams across the globe, experience in developing globally applicable and locally-relevant policies, as well as knowledge of immigration policies is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement,
    motivation and preservation of human capital
  • Nurture a positive and engaging working environment across the organisation
  • Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems
  • Create and implement effective onboarding procedures
  • Develop learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal
    development opportunities
  • Assist in performance management processes that drive high performance
  • Provide counselling on policies and procedures
  • Be actively involved in recruitment by preparing job descriptions, posting ads and
    managing the hiring process
  • Support the management of disciplinary and grievance issues
  • Maintain employee records (attendance, EEO data etc.) according to policy and legal
    requirements
  • Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as an HR Officer or relevant role
  • Knowledge of HR functions (pay & benefits, recruitment, training & development etc.)
  • Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the
    company
  • Thorough knowledge of labour laws
  • Computer literacy (MS Office applications, in particular)
  • Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize important projects
  • Strong phone, email and in-person communication skills
  • BSc/BA in Human Resources, business administration, social studies or relevant field;
    further training will be a plus
