Using micro-credit, Suryoday offers joint liability loans as well as individual SME loans to economically challenged women who traditionally lack access to banking services. Based in Pune, Maharashtra, the company operates in three additional regions with a presence in the slums of Mumbai, where it can best serve financially excluded women. As of 2015, Suryoday has over 500,000 active clients.

Beyond its financial inclusion mission to enhancing the income generation of its customers, Suryoday promotes socio-economic progress through its partnerships with external parties. This young MFI provides financial literacy and skills training to its customers and organises regular health-care camps.

Based upon its strong, socially impactful model, Goodwell invested in the company during its startup phase and has since helped Suryoday build its operations, while providing support and helping to raise extra capital.
